About the Course
This training is focused on identifying ways in which we can provide empathy and compassion when working with the veteran population. As a service focused organization, taking care of the needs of our clients is a top priority. In this training we explore the various challenges veterans face throughout their lives and the ways in which we can assist in those challenges. We discuss specifically ways in which we can provide compassion and empathy while providing resources for each of those challenges. We also discuss the reason why having compassion and empathy is so important when working with this population and how lack of compassion and empathy can lead to suicidal ideation in an already vulnerable group.
This training is appropriate for all adults over the age of 18 but may be especially helpful for those providing services in a social service of behavioral health setting.
